To hear for life, Listen with care
Established in 2003, National Programme for Early Detection of Hearing Loss provides hearing screenings to all babies born in Qatar prior to their discharge from the hospital. Under the programme, all babies are tested again when they have their first vaccination in two months.
AUDIOLOGY SERVICES
The Audiology service diagnoses and treats individuals with auditory, balance, and related disorders. This includes identifying and assessing hearing and balance problems, rehabilitating persons with hearing and balance disorders.
SCOPE OF SERVICE
The general procedures carried out by Al Hadi Medical Center’s Audio Vestibular Clinic includes:
Screening
- Well baby hearing from Newborn to 2 months
- Administration and interpretation of clinical case history
- Hearing and Screening for school entry
- Hearing Loss Management
- Eustachian Tube Function Test
- Central Auditory Processing Profile
- Auditory Steady State Response
DIAGNOSTICS
- Administration and Interpretation of Pure tone Audiometry for pateints with age 6 years and above
- Administration and Interpretation of Immitance (Tympanometry and Reflex ) evaluation for all age groups
- Interpretation of the test result and further recommend the need of other tests such as Auditory Steady State Response, Central Auditory Processing Profile, Tinnitus Assessment, Behavioral, Electroacoustic, Electrophysiological measures of the peripheral and central auditory, balance, and other related systems
- Administration, Interpretation, and evaluation of Otoacoustic Emission for all age groups.
REHABILITATION
Engaged in the following activities when counselling individuals and their families:
- Interpretation of assessment outcomes and treatment options
- Empowering individuals and their families to make informed decisions related to their plan of care
- Referring individuals to other professionals when counselling needs fall outside those related to auditory, balance and other related disorders
- Recommendation of ear protective devices
- Counselling regarding the care and maintenance of hearing instruments.

Adult and young population since Birth.
